THE AUTHOR

Dr. Anthony G. Beck

The clinician who built the framework. Founder of Balance Protocol and creator of the NutraCoreX functional laboratory assessment.

Dr. Anthony G. Beck, author of Borrowed Signals and Applied Peptide Therapy

About the author.

Dr. Anthony G. Beck has spent more than three decades in integrative and functional medicine, focused on the metabolic systems mainstream care tends to overlook. He founded Balance Protocol in 2008 to formalize a systems biology approach to chronic metabolic dysfunction: measuring how biochemistry, genomics, environment and lifestyle interact before deciding what to do and in what order. He created the NutraCoreX functional laboratory assessment, which measures 150 functional biomarkers. NutraCoreX is processed by Genova Diagnostics, an independent CLIA-certified laboratory. He is the author of Borrowed Signals and its companion, Applied Peptide Therapy.

Why these books exist

Dr. Anthony G. Beck wrote these books for people who wanted to take their health seriously and found themselves navigating competing promises about peptides. In the opening letters, he describes the pattern that concerned him: people adding compounds without a documented baseline, a monitoring plan, or a clear endpoint.

Borrowed Signals addresses the evidence behind the claims and teaches a method for examining them. Applied Peptide Therapy carries the discussion into practical questions about starting points, targets, monitoring, and reassessment.

Both books ask readers to bring their skepticism to the author’s reasoning as well as to the marketplace.
